A County Fermanagh priest has been remanded in custody charged with indecent assault and facilitating the rape of a 12-year-old girl.
Father Jeremiah McGrath, 62, of the Parochial House in Rosslea, appeared in court in Liverpool on Saturday.
The alleged offences occurred between May and November 2005 in England.
The priest spoke only to confirm his name and address. No plea was entered but a solicitor said he would be strongly denying the allegations.
Police searched his parochial house two weeks ago and removed a number of documents for examination.
He was arrested in Northern Ireland on Wednesday after going voluntarily to Enniskillen Police Station.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday.
