A paedophile who raped his niece when she was just nine years old has been jailed for 12 years after a judge labelled him a "danger".
During the man's trial in September the court heard how the girl was abused when she spent a week's holiday with her uncle in County Tyrone in 1987.
The man, who cannot be named to protect his victim, raped her after subjecting her to "inappropriate touching".
He must remain on the sex offenders register for the rest of his life.
Judge Patrick Lynch QC told him he had breached the trust which had been placed in him.
He said due to his continual denial of wrongdoing "I consider that you are a danger to the community and to children in the future".
