Police in County Armagh have appealed for help in tracing a 30-year-old man missing since the start of the month.

Mark Anthony Johnston, originally from Scotland but who lives in Lurgan's Larkfield Square, was known to be in the Harbour area of Belfast on 1 April.

He was to board the Stena HSS 1220 BST sailing to Scotland, but rang his family at 1330 BST telling them that he intended to get a later sailing.

He has not contacted his family since then and they are worried about him.

Mr Johnston is believed to have been in the company of other people, including a woman, when he made the call.

He is described as being 5ft 4ins, slim - about 9st in weight - and has very short dark hair and side burns with hazel coloured eyes and a pale complexion.

He wears an earring and has tattoos on his right shoulder and one on his left forearm.

When last seen Mr Johnston was wearing black jeans, a black jacket, blue and white trainers and carried a blue bag with black stripes.

The police want anyone who was in the Stena terminal at Belfast Harbour on Friday 1 April, particularly in the shops, café or bars in the immediate area and saw a person fitting Mr Johnston's description to contact them.

Officers would also like to hear from the people who were with him when he made the phone call home.

Police in Lurgan can be reached on 028 38 325144 and Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555111.
