Town centre alert declared a hoax

A security alert in County Tyrone has ended, police have said.

A number of business premises in Strabane town centre were evacuated following telephoned bomb warnings and some roads were also closed.

Police said the alert has been declared a hoax and that roads in the area had been re-opened.

Meanwhile, in Belfast groups of loyalist women held protests on the Crumlin, Springfield and Albertbridge Roads.
