Firebomb found at shopping centre
Ards shopping centre
It is the second device discovered at the shopping centre
A firebomb has been discovered at Ards shopping centre in Newtownards, County Down.

It was made safe by Army technical officers. Shops in the complex have been evacuated while the security operation continues.

The device was found at about 1220 BST on Wednesday. It is the second time this week an incendiary has been found in the Ards centre.

On Easter Monday a burnt-out incendiary was found in a store in the centre.

The police blamed that incident and others over the Easter weekend on dissident republicans.

Police have called on shopkeepers and the public to be on the alert.

Two firebombs were discovered in the Forestside complex in south Belfast over the Easter weekend.
