A bicycle recovered from Londonderry's River Foyle belonged to murdered musician James Gilchrist, police in the city have said.

The bicycle, which was retrieved by police divers on Sunday, is being examined forensically.

Meanwhile, part of a walkway at Queen's Quay on the Foyle has been cordoned off and is being examined.

Mr Gilchrist was killed in the early hours of 28 September, but the bike he was last seen on had not been found.

The 62-year-old's funeral took place last Thursday.

A 27-year-old man is in custody charged with his murder.
