Four escape gun attack on house
House with smashed window
A shotgun was used in the attack
Four people have escaped injury after a number of shots were fired at a house in west Belfast.

The attack happened at Hawthorne Street in the Falls Road area of the city just before 0100 GMT on Monday.

A man, woman and two children were inside when two shotgun rounds were fired at the house.

Detectives do not believe the attack was sectarian. The assailants made off in a dark coloured vehicle later found on fire in Servia Street.

Police have said the vehicle was possibly a Seat Alhambra.

Forensic experts are expected to attend the scene of the shooting later on Monday.

The police have appealed for any witnesses to contact them.
