Family calls on IRA to admit link
Forensic officers at the scene of the stabbing in October 2003
The family of a man killed in Londonderry have called on the IRA to admit that the man responsible was one of its members.

James McGinley's relatives held a vigil for him at the place where he died in Derry's Bogside on Thursday night.

Mr McGinley, 23, was stabbed after a fight at Little James Street in the city in October 2003.

Bartholomew Fisher, from Sackville Court in Derry, is serving three years for his manslaughter.

The family said they had been given the courage to speak out after meeting the family of Robert McCartney in Belfast on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the McCartney family have refused to comment on a newspaper interview given by one of those held for questioning for a time over the stabbing.

Mr McCartney, a 33-year-old father-of-two, died after being stabbed near Belfast city centre on 30 January 2005.

Mr McCartney's family has said those responsible must be forced to admit their role in the murder.

Two men have been arrested over the murder in the past week, but both have been released without charge.
