A man in his 50s has escaped serious injury after being attacked by a man wielding a samurai type sword in County Down, police have said.
It happened on Sunday after a man entered an amusement arcade on Newcastle's Main Street.
The victim sustained injuries to his head, neck and arm, but was saved from serious harm by a man on the premises who used a chair to shield him.
A man in his 30s was later arrested at a car park near Bryansford Road.
The injured man was treated at the scene by ambulance personnel.
A follow up examination of the scene where the attack occurred is expected to be carried out later on Monday.
