Man injured in bogus taxi attack

The man got into a car in the city thinking it was a taxi

A man has been attacked in Londonderry after accepting a lift in a car which he thought was a taxi.

The man was picked up outside a hotel in the city at about 0330 BST on Saturday.

He was taken to a country lane where he was beaten by two men.

The man suffered facial injuries and several loose teeth.

Police have appealed for anyone with any information about the attack to contact them.
