Murder charge after teen's death

Christopher Finnegan was found in the street

A 23-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 17-year-old youth in County Down.

He is expected to appear at Newry Magistrates Court on Saturday.

Christopher Finnegan was found lying in the street early on Thursday following a disturbance at a house in Erinvale Terrace in Banbridge.

He had a single stab wound to the chest and died before reaching hospital in Newry.

Detectives have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
