Detectives investigating the murder of a man in County Armagh are questioning his wife, it has emerged.

The body of Paul Crymble, 35, was found at Marlacoo off the main Portadown to Markethill Road shortly before 1100 BST on Sunday.

A man arrested alongside Mr Crymble's wife on Monday is also being questioned by police.

Preliminary results of a post-mortem examination have indicated that he died from asphyxiation.

Police were told Mr Crymble and his wife were confronted by a gang of four armed and masked men as they returned to their home at Ballybreagh Road, Richhill, at about 0230 BST on Sunday.

The gang demanded money before bundling him into the family car.

Police have ruled out paramilitary involvement in the killing.

PSNI Superintendent Bob Moore said no motive had yet been established for the murder.

"This is a very early stage in the investigation," he said.

"At this point we have not yet established a motive for this terrible crime.

"There is no indication at this stage of paramilitary involvement however we will obviously be exploring all avenues of inquiry as they emerge."

Mr Crymble was a father of a 12-year-old girl and eight-year-old boy.

The engineer's body was spotted by a member of the public in a laneway at Cornascreeb Road, two miles from his home.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
