Children stone city traffic
Westlink
Two people were injured after stones hit their vehicles
Children as young as 10 were involved in throwing stones at motorists on a busy Belfast road, police have said.

A man and woman were hurt in separate incidents on the Westlink on Tuesday evening.

Up to 20 vehicles were damaged.

A lorry driver received cuts to his back when a stone broke a side window in his cab.

A woman passenger in another car suffered bruises to her face and received cuts to her arms and legs when the side window was smashed by a brick.

The Westlink was closed for a time between Grosvenor Road and Broadway during the stonethrowing.

The police have urged parents to ensure that their children are not involved in such incidents, which they say pose extreme danger to motorists.
