Four people have been rescued after becoming stuck on a cliff in County Antrim.

The Coastguard cliff team and paramedics lowered them to the bottom of the cliff at Ballycastle.

The incident happened on Sunday afternoon.

The four were picked up by Red Bay Life Boat.

One person has a broken arm and lacerations to the face, said a Coastguard spokesman.

Meanwhile, an air and sea search is under way off the coast of County Wicklow in the Republic of Ireland following fears that a fishing vessel had sunk in the area.

A distress signal was picked up by a fishing boat three miles east of the village of Greystones on Sunday morning.

The Coastguard helicopter, three lifeboats and a number of other boats are all involved in the search, which is being co-ordinated by the Navy.
