A female nurse has been arrested by police in Northern Ireland under anti-terrorist legislation.

The woman, who works at Belfast's Royal Victoria Hospital, was arrested along with a man on Friday by officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

Police said the pair were being questioned about serious crimes as part of an international investigation.

The man and woman are foreign nationals.

They can be held for a week.
