Road death toll rises to four
The teenager was a back seat passenger in the car
An 18-year-old woman has been killed in a car crash in County Tyrone.

The accident happened on the Gortin Road outside Omagh at about 2330 BST on Sunday.

Paula Murphy, from Neilmore Drive, Omagh, is the fourth young person to die on the roads in the province in the last 24 hours.

The car appears to have lost control as it rounded a bend.

It is understood the 18-year-old, who was a back seat passenger, was not wearing a seatbelt.

Three other teenagers in the car were taken to hospital.

The driver of the car is said to be in a serious condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast.

Meanwhile, three young men died when their car struck a wall in Dungannon in the early hours of Sunday morning.

The accident happened on the Beechvalley Road when the car failed to stop at a junction and struck a wall.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident.

The dead men, who died at the scene, have been named as Barry Martin McDonald, 20, of Dunavon Heights in Dungannon, Neil Morrow, 20, Drumglass Way, Dungannon, and John Paul Reilly, 23, of Sycamore Drive in Enniskillen.

Two of Barry McDonald's brothers were also killed in car crashes.

It is thought Mr McDonald was the owner of the car.

Police forensic officers examined the scene to establish what caused the crash on a relatively straight stretch of country road on the outskirts of the town.

A total of 55 people have died on Northern Ireland's roads so far this year.
