A woman has been injured in a knife and gun attack on the outskirts of Belfast.

A car with a number of people in it pulled up outside a house on the Brians Well Road in Poleglass shortly before midnight on Saturday.

One man got out and entered the house, where he slashed the woman with a knife.

After he left, a shot was fired through the front window.

It is understood the attack may be linked to a feud among the Travelling community.

The woman's condition is not thought to be life-threatening. She was later released from hospital.

Two men have been arrested and are helping police with their inquiries.
