Omagh detectives make arrest
![]() The Omagh bomb left 29 people dead
Detectives in the Republic of Ireland investigating the Omagh bomb have arrested a man on a terrorism charge.
The man was taken from his home in the Inniskeen area of County Monaghan on Tuesday. He is expected to appear at the Special Criminal Court in Dublin on Wednesday morning, accused of membership of an illegal paramilitary organisation. Twenty-nine men, women and children died and hundreds were injured when the Real IRA detonated a car bomb in the County Tyrone town on 15 August 1998 - a Saturday when the centre was full of shoppers. Victims' relatives are taking a civil action against a number of men they accuse of involvement in the Real IRA attack.
