Man injured in shooting
A 24-year-old man has been treated in hospital for a gun shot wound to his leg.

The shooting happened outside a house in the Fairways area of Ballyhornan in Downpatrick at about 0115 GMT on Saturday.

The 24-year-old man, his girlfriend and his parents were at home when a stone was thrown through the kitchen window.

When the father and son went out to investigate, a masked man standing a short distance away fired a shot at them.

The young man was hit on the lower left leg, while his father was uninjured.

He was treated for his wounds at Downe Hospital.

The police are investigating a motive for the attack.
