Many schools are set to benefit
An upgraded package of funding for schools in Northern Ireland worth £54m has been announced by the Education Minister, Martin McGuinness. BBC News Online details where the money will be spent.

New primary Schools

  • Bready and Sandville Primary Schools, Strabane: £1.3m
  • Clough and Downshire Primary Schools, County Down: £1.8m
  • Dervaghroy, Sixmilecross and The Hutton Primary Schools, County Tyrone: £1.3m
  • Hillsborough and Newport Primary Schools, Hillsborough, County Down: £3.8m
  • Bunscoil an tSleibhe Dhuibh, Primary School, Belfast: £1.4m
  • Dundonald Primary, Belfast: £4.8m
  • Edwards Primary, Castlederg, County Tyrone: £2.0m
  • Loanends Primary, Nutts Corner, County Antrim: £1.2m
  • Millquarter Primary, Toomebridge, County Antrim :£1m
  • St Eugene's Primary, Londonderry: £2.1m (Extension and refurbishment)
  • St Ninnidh's Primary, Derrylin, County Fermanagh: £1.2m

    Special Schools

  • Hill Croft School, Newtownabbey, County Antrim: £5.6m

    Secondary Schools

  • La Salle Boys' School, Belfast: £16m (Extend and refurbish)
  • Drumragh College, Omagh: £10.2m
  • Crumlin High School: £0.7m (New gymnasium)

    Another seven schools will receive funding for development under Public Private Partnerships, amounting to £53m.

  • Tor Bank Special School, Dundonald: £5.9m (New school)
  • Down High School, Downpatrick: £10.5m (Extend and refurbishment)
  • Lagan College, Belfast: £11.1m (Extend and refurbish)
  • Our Lady and St Patrick's College, Knock: £11.0m (Extend and refurbish)
  • St Patrick's Grammar School, Downpatrick, County Down: £8.5m (Extend and refurbish)
  • St Mary's Primary School, Portglenone, County Antrim: £2.2m (New school)
  • St Joseph's Primary School, Carryduff: £3.5m (New school)
