Jobs boost at Odyssey bar
The Odyssey was Belfast's millennium project
The Odyssey was Belfast's millennium project
Sixty jobs are to be created when a new bar-restaurant opens at Belfast's Odyssey entertainment complex at the end of March.

Bar Seven is the latest venue to open at the complex on the Lagan River in the docks area of the city centre.

About 30 of the staff are expected to be employed full-time and the rest part time.

The Odyssey, Belfast's millennium project, includes a 10,000-seater arena hosting ice hockey matches and concerts, the W5 science centre, two cinemas and restaurants.

Backed by the Sheridan Group, which was behind the Odyssey concept, Bar Seven is being opened in a £1.5m investment.

The bar will seat 280 people and have standing room for another 750.

Operations manager for the Sheridan Group in Belfast, Mary Rose Gilroy, said the company aimed to broaden the appeal of the Odyssey as a dining venue.
