Protestant residents of the Glenbryn area of north Belfast clashed with the security forces as they attempted to prevent Catholic children attending a primary school on the first day of term.

There was a heavy security presence at the Holy Cross Primary Girl's School in Ardoyne as children and their parents attempted to enter the school on Monday.
