Search for missing girl continues
Barbara Graham: Hard to believe my daughter has vanished
Barbara Graham needs to know where her daughter is
Police investigating the disappearance of a teenager in Portadown 12 years ago, have resumed their search of a garden near Carlton Street in the County Armagh town.

Nineteen-year-old Caroline Graham, who was originally from Newry in County Down, went missing from her Portadown home at Easter in 1989.

She had been living with her boyfriend in Hanover Street, close to the scene of the police operation in an old walled garden at the rear of houses on Carlton Street.

Forensic scientists using equipment able to pick up cavities or ground that has been disturbed swept the garden on Tuesday.

I want her found. I am at the end of my tether and I can't take any more.

Caroline's mother Barbara Graham has appealed for anyone with information on her daughter's whereabouts to come forward.

"I would like to think that somebody out there who knows something would finally come forward," she said.

"I want to see it all come to an end.

"I hope that with all this going on, that they do find something.

"That is all I want, I want her found. I am at the end of my tether and I can't take any more."

'Eliminating possibilities'

A small hydraulic digger has excavated several small spots in the large overgrown garden.

The RUC said the search was mounted after recent surveys of the Carlton Street area in the town.

These are part of the long-running investigation into the fate of the missing woman.

However, it is understood the search is more about eliminating possibilities than finding a body.

After Miss Graham went missing, her mother and sister went to her last known address in Portadown.

But neighbours said she had moved away.
