Why the ukulele is enjoying a comeback

Maybe best known as the instrument played by 1930s and 40s entertainer George Formby, the modest ukulele is enjoying a surge in popularity.

Once considered a novelty, the prominence of acts such as The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain and comedians like Frank Skinner has led to rocketing sales of the four-stringed instrument.

Matt Reynolds, owner of London shop The Duke of Uke, explains the ukulele's appeal, with a little help from George himself.
