The sophisticated debutante season, where young society women were presented to the Queen, came to an end 50 years ago. To mark the occasion, Kensington Palace in London is offering visitors a glimpse of the formal presentations, cocktail parties and dances of 1958.
Two former "debs", Elfrida Fallowfield and Maggie Chilton, recall that summer - and the men who accompanied them, the "debs' delights".
