Answers

  1. It's Michael Jackson, 50 on 29 August. Oldest is Paul Weller, who marked his 50th on Sunday. Prince's big day is on 7 June and Madonna hits the big 5-0 on 16 August.
  2. It's Anglesey Aluminium, which runs its smelters 24/7. Despite efforts to ease demand, blackouts hit homes, hospitals, trains and businesses across the country during the day on Tuesday.
  3. NOT included is William Shatner - it's Patrick Stewart who introduces the Mars Radio section of the DVD. Assuming the alien life forms have some means of playing the disc.
  4. It's "stinky". On Tuesday a contestant mocked by housemates who said she had body odour had her complaint against Channel 4 rejected. Dawn Blake took part in the show in 2006.
  5. It's just 2%, according to oil economist Professor Alex Kemp. The UK can make "a small positive effect," he said, "but they are not going to make any significant effect on the world oil price."
  6. Poland gave the Russian entry a comparatively paltry six points, compared with the full 12 bestowed by Ukraine, Armenia and Belarus. Moldova and Romania both gave 10, with the Eastern bloc rounded out with eight points from Georgia.
