The France-based media rights watchdog Reporters Sans Frontieres has called for a boycott of the opening ceremony of the games. The torch will now be carried through 20 countries, before arriving in Beijing for the start of the Games on 8 August.

1. It's Harry Potter. The findings were part of a report commissioned for the National Year of Reading. Heat was top; online song lyrics were joint second with Bliss magazine. Facebook, Shakespeare and homework were loathed. But only Harry Potter appeared in both lists.
2. There is no rule that dictates one must curtsey to the Queen, or other senior royals, although it is a widely observed convention. Prior to the state visit, protocol watchers wondered whether Mrs Sarkozy - herself married to a head of state, and leader of a republic to boot - would dip her knee to Her Majesty.
3. It's "blood-sucking". Talking on US television about her new detox plan, actress Demi Moore said: "You watch it swell up on your blood... then when it's super drunk it just kind of rolls over like it is stumbling out of the bar."
4. It wasn't among the plans, but mental health campaigners want papers used to make hand-rolled cigarettes to carry printed warnings about the dangers of cannabis.
