Appeal over theft of Land Rovers in Wiltshire

Police have appealed for information after a recent increase in the theft of Land Rover Defenders in Wiltshire, particularly in rural areas.

They said the stolen vehicles mainly have L, M, N and P registration plates, made before immobilisers were factory fitted in the vehicles as standard.

A spokeswoman said the vehicles were relied on by farmers so the thefts disrupt their livelihood.

Some of the cars had been burnt out, while others have not been recovered.
