Mr Strong spoke to children at the school

Children's author Jeremy Strong made a trip to Bath to open a new library at St Martin's Garden Primary School.

The former teacher has written more than 80 books in a 30-year career.

He is a keen supporter of encouraging children to read at a young age, and the school is unusual in having its own permanent librarian.

The children regard it as their own space and have been running a special programme called the Reading Recovery System for the past year.

It helps to spot reading problems and puts them right at an early stage.
