Work begins on new cardiac unit

Building work has begun on a new cardiac unit at Salisbury District hospital in Wiltshire.

Once complete, the unit will offer additional surgical procedures ending the need for patients to travel to hospitals in neighbouring counties.

The accident and emergency department is also expanding and being refurbished.

During the work, which is scheduled to end in November, some changes have been made affecting car parking.
