Burns may identify arson suspect

A suspected burglar who set fire to a house in Wiltshire is likely to have suffered burns, police said.

The ground floor of the building in Dane Close, Winsley, near Bradford-on-Avon, was badly damaged in the arson attack on Wednesday.

An untidy search of the house was made during the break-in before it was deliberately set alight.

The offender was likely to have suffered burns to the face, hands and arms in the process, police said.

Police said these injuries may help to identify the suspect.

The incident is being linked to a previous incident on 26 September when a man wearing a boiler suit was seen in the garden of the same house.

He was disturbed by the homeowner and drove off in a white Transit van.
