Crash scene
Tuesday's accident also closed the motorway in both directions

The M4 in Wiltshire was closed in both directions near Swindon by a serious crash.

An air ambulance was scrambled to the crash between J16 (Swindon West) and J14 A338 (Hungerford) which happened at about 1700 BST.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said a car travelling east had overturned several times, although it was thought no-one was seriously hurt.

By 1825 BST only one eastbound lane near Swindon remained closed.

On Tuesday a stretch of the motorway was closed for 14 hours following a crash which injured 13 people.

A coach driver remains seriously ill with leg injuries at Frenchay Hospital near Bristol following the pile-up.
