North Wiltshire District Council has celebrated the countdown to the 2012 Olympic games in London, by raising a special flag.

The council office, in Chippenham, was one of more than 500 sites selected to raise the Olympic handover flag.

Councillor Viv Vines, who helped to hoist the flag, said the council was "delighted" to play a part.

The authority has allocated £5,000 to help support five Olympic hopefuls for the 2012 games.
