Three rescued from burning flat

Three people were rescued from a first floor flat in Swindon after the fire service received reports of smoke billowing from a window.

Crews from Swindon and Stratton Fire Stations were called to Gresham Close, Walcot just after 2015 BST on Sunday.

The three casualties were rescued using a ladder and treated after breathing in smoke.

A fourth casualty made his own way out of the building. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
