Police at the scene

Money is being raised for the family of a six-year-old Wiltshire boy who was killed in a road accident last week.

Ashley Whiteway died when he was hit by a bus in Westlea Drive in Toothill, Swindon. His friend Dean Harle is in a satisfactory condition in hospital.

Family friend Lisa Score said local people had raised £200 in support for Ashley's family.

"I thought it would be nice to show them there's a community for people in their time of need," she said.

Ashley and seven-year-old Dean stepped out from behind a parked bus into the path of double-decker last Thursday evening.
