Helpline for minority communities

A new telephone line has gone live aimed at helping members of black and minority communities in West Wiltshire.

The district council is funding the service which will operate through the Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB).

CAB plans to recruit staff from these communities and to develop networks that can provide guidance to callers.

Sarah Cardy from CAB said: "CAB is for everyone but we know people from ethnic backgrounds are less likely to seek advice from us."

The advice line number is 0845 071 2333

CAB is also trying to secure funding for other projects to make sure everyone in the community can access advice when they need it.
