Woman cyclist hurt in hit and run

A woman cyclist suffered a broken ankle when she was hit from behind by a car in Wiltshire, police have said.

The woman was riding towards the A36 at Dilton Marsh when she was struck by what was thought to be a Citroen or a Peugeot car which failed to stop.

The car's wing mirror was dislodged in the incident which happened on Tuesday evening. The woman also suffered cuts to the head.

A Wiltshire Police spokesman appealed for witnesses to come forward.
