Car on a flooded road: generic
Drivers are being asked to be extra careful on the wet roads
Many of Wiltshire's roads have flooded after Sunday's downpour making it impossible for cars to get through.

Cars parked at the Nestle factory at Staverton, Trowbridge cannot be recovered due to the high water.

Police said the road was closed and no attempts should be made to pass it for at least 12 hours.

On the A429 at Kingway bridge, Corston the road is totally flooded in both directions and heavy floods have hit the A361 at Salthrop.

The route between Wroughton and The Bell public house at Broad Hinton are currently under water.

A police spokesman said: "Drivers should be aware that Wiltshire is currently experiencing many areas of flooding and that the appropriate agencies are dealing with the incidents as quickly as they are able.

"We would ask that drivers using the roads today drive carefully, safely and according to the road conditions.

"We would suggest that persons should drive only if their journey is necessary."
