City centre development explored
A property firm has been appointed to explore the possibility of a redevelopment of the Maltings and Central Car Park areas of Salisbury.

The revamp plan has been highlighted in a city review and could see shops, restaurants and cafes built there.

The plan could also see the area around the Salisbury Playhouse rebuilt.

The study is being carried out by Alder King, with the results due back in May. The council says it will decide on the next steps in the summer.

Councillor Peter Edge, from Salisbury District Council, said: "This is a really exciting project for the city.

"We know that if Salisbury wants to continue to be a thriving centre for residents, businesses and visitors we need to provide space for modern retail needs."
