Man bailed over soldier's death

A soldier arrested in connection with the death of a colleague has been released on police bail.

The body of a 24-year-old man was found in the married quarters at barracks in Zouch Avenue, Tidworth, on Monday, after reports of a sudden death.

A murder inquiry was launched and a 27-year-old soldier was arrested, before being bailed on Tuesday.

A post mortem examination on the body has taken place. Police are awaiting the results of further tests.

The formal identification of the dead soldier has not yet taken place.

An army spokeswoman would not disclose the soldiers' regiment.
