Hardcore porn DVDs seized in raid
Nineteen boxes of DVDs featuring hardcore adult material have been recovered in a raid in Swindon.

Police carried out the raid following an anonymous tip-off and information provided by Trading Standards in four counties. One arrest was made.

Ten shops in Swindon have been caught stocking the unlicensed material.

Intelligence indicated privately-owned shops in England and Wales were being provided with unclassified DVDs of adult material.

Operation Triple X

Classified hardcore adult material can only be sold in licensed sex shops.

The suppliers of the DVDs were committing a criminal offence under the Video Recordings Act 1984 which can lead to two years in prison if convicted.

Trading Standards departments in Bournemouth, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire and Sutton in Surrey helped in the investigation.

Operation Triple X involved the Trading Standards team from Swindon visiting a large number of independent retailers including newsagents, convenience stores and petrol station forecourt shops.
