Rock singer 'drunk at youth club'
Richard Ashcroft
The ex-Verve star was handed a fixed penalty notice
Ex-Verve frontman Richard Ashcroft has been fined for getting drunk at a Wiltshire youth club.

Police say the 34-year-old singer was arrested for being drunk and disorderly at an event for under 12s in Chippenham on Monday night.

A force spokesman said he was taken from the town's Bridge Centre Youth Club to Melksham police station.

The father-of-two was given an on-the-spot penalty notice before being released, he said.

Mr Ashcroft's record label, Parlophone, declined to comment.
