Girl goes missing after sleepover

Concern is growing for the safety of a 14-year-old Wiltshire girl who has been missing since the weekend.

Zeanne Maughan-Smith, from Melksham, stayed at a friend's home in Devizes on Friday night with her parents' consent.

Arrangements were made for her mother to collect her from the Market Place on Saturday morning, but on seeing her mother, she ran off.

She did not turn up at school on Monday and her father Neil made an emotional appeal to her to come home.

Computer check

"Please get in touch, if not with us, get in touch with the police," he said.

"Or get in touch with someone and ask them to get in touch with us."

It was not the first time she had disappeared, he added, but she had always returned home within hours previously.

Police were said to be checking Zeanne's mobile phone records and her school computer in case she had met someone in an internet chat room.

Zeanne is described as white, 5ft 2ins tall, with blue eyes and long blonde shoulder-length hair, tied back.

When last seen, she was wearing light blue denim jeans, white trainers and a dark blue puffa style jacket.

She has rings on all her fingers, and was thought to be wearing a silver coloured "square" shaped necklace.
