A hairnet worn by Coronation Street battleaxe Ena Sharples has sold for £61 at a Swindon auction.

The character, played by the late Violet Carson, appeared in the first episode of the television soap in 1960.
Her open-weave nylon elasticised hairnet was sold by Dominic Winters auction house to a German collector.
Christian Haslinger bought the piece as a gift for his mother, who watched the series in her youth in Britain. It came with a postcard signed by the actress.
Valuer Chris Albury said: "This hair net is the quintessential Corrie memento."
It belonged to theatre history collector Barry Wilkinson from Twickenham.
Another of the character's hairnets sold for £50 in 2003.
Other items in the sale include signed letters by Peter Pan author J M Barrie, a signed, promotional David Bowie black and white publicity card and a typed letter by Bing Crosby.
