Defacing of mosque investigated

Police are investigating the defacement of a Swindon mosque.

A man was seen writing offensive remarks in marker pen on a sign at the Bangladeshi mosque, in Manchester Road, on Saturday evening.

Police said the eyewitness, who tried to intervene, was subjected to religious verbal abuse.

Officers are also looking for another man and a woman seen with the offender. Witnesses to the incident are urged to come forward.
