Staff move closes hospital unit

A minor injury unit has been closed temporarily so that under-utilised staff can be transferred to busier hospitals in Wiltshire.

The Malmesbury unit will no longer be accepting patients from Friday.

Instead, people will need to travel to Tetbury or Chippenham community hospitals for treatment.

A Devizes unit is also to have its hours cut. A spokesman for the Kennet and North Wiltshire PCT said the units saw few patients outside regular hours.
