Smallest church opens its doors
Bremilham Church near Malmesbury, Wiltshire
The church is listed in the Guinness Book of Records
Britain's smallest church will open its doors for the only time this year to host its annual Sunday service.

Bremilham Church, on a farm at Foxley-cum-Bremilham near Malmesbury, Wiltshire, measures just 4m by 3.6m.

Its single pew has space for four people and there is standing room for six more.

The church, which is listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the smallest church in service in Britain, holds one service to mark Rogationtide.

Between 50 and 100 people are expected to crowd outside the church which was built in the 1800s to replace a larger one on the site.

For many years it was used by the farmer who owned it to house turkeys, but when the current owners took over the farm they had it blessed and began using it for services again.
