A machine which can sniff-out "date rape" and other drugs has been bought for police by a Salisbury club owner.
The £32,000 Ion Track Itemiser is able to detect minute traces of any illegal substance on clothes or skin - and the result is displayed in seconds.
It was first trialled at The Chapel nightclub and its owner was so impressed with the machine he bought a second for police to use.
A police spokeswoman said its use delivered a strong anti-drugs message.
