Work on building Swindon's newest college is under way.

The Swindon College is on the verge of moving from its town centre site in Regent Circus to the purpose-built new campus at North Star.

For years the college has been split between four different sites but now it is hoped the campus will be ready to open some time in the next three years.

The £15m project will include two large workshops for practical courses like carpentry and a plumbing.

The four-storey main block will include a refectory, art and design studios and performing arts facility.

Earlier in March the college announced it was to cut 70 positions, mainly from its teaching staff, in a move that would save £1.2m a year.
