Wiltshire foster parents are needed in the New Year, says the county council.
There are around 300 children and young people in the county who are currently being looked after by the council.
Fostering offers the best alternative, says the local authority, and would-be parents can choose from a variety of care provision options.
These involve short breaks - overnight visits - short-term fostering for a period of months or long-term care until the child reaches adulthood.
Foster carers do not need qualifications and the council says it provides a full range of training, supervision and support.
A spokesman said: "Carers do need a good support network, resilience and an understanding of children's and young people's needs."
